DIY Magnet Party Favors

So the past two days I’ve been working on these magnet party favors. It was a very easy and very tedious process.

Materials I used:

  • Mod Podge (homemade)
  • Glass stones from the Dollar Store
  • Old wallpaper samples (for background)
  • Hot glue gun
  • Magnet buttons
  • Scissors
  • Acrylic paint

So I’m not going to do a full tutorial on this because there are already so many out there already. One of the things I did differently than most people is that I used homemade Mod Podge. I don’t have any on hand, so I mixed equal parts Elmer’s Glue All and water. School glue does the trick as well. This mixture works just like Mod Podge would, so write that one down if you want to save yourself some money in the future!

I also used wallpaper samples for the background of these. Stop by a local furniture store near you to see if they have any old sample books they are going to throw away! I always go to these books for a lot of my little projects, they are a ton of fun and so many different designs. The specific book I used these samples from was a 1997 Katzenbach & Warren.

I’m going to let people rip open the mini pinatas I made to reveal these little guys!
